In order to expand fundamental and applied research, strengthen interdisciplinary connections, and provide suitable diagnostic and therapeutic solutions, the Specialized Biochemistry Laboratory was established at the Research Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism in 2006. The laboratory has begun its activities in various fields, including:

1. Production of Monoclonal Antibodies

   Monoclonal antibody production is performed using phage display technology and hybridoma technology in this laboratory. Displaying proteins on the surface of phages is a reliable method for selecting rare genes that encode proteins with binding activity.

2. Design and Production of Nanomaterials Conjugated with Antibodies or Drugs for Various Medical Applications

3. Immunochemistry and Related Technologies:

   • Immunoassays
   • Immunocytochemistry
   • Design of Rapid Tests

   Immunochromatography is a test based on antibodies, commonly using gold-labeled antibodies. Rapid tests can have sensitivity comparable to or even greater than ELISA kits. These tests can detect analytes with a precision down to nanograms per milliliter through visual inspection. Designing a fast, sensitive, and easy method for measuring analytes in biological samples can be beneficial for patient monitoring.
